Whitney Lynn Jerry (Watson), known affectionately as Whitney to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama, at the age of 36. Born on August 16, 1988, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Whitney’s life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and creativity that touched everyone she knew.

Her gentle and loving spirit was evident from a young age, as she formed lasting bonds with those around her. Whitney grew up at and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she attended when her health allowed.

She was the cherished daughter of Lynn (Jason) Drennon Prickett and the late Mike Jerry. Whitney’s memory will be forever held in the hearts of her beloved sons, Brayden Lane Jerry, Brantley Edward Watson, and Bryson Thomas Watson, who were the center of her world. Her love for her children was unmatched. Survivors include, Whitney’s siblings, Katherine (Madison) Matthews, Ryan (Meagan) Jerry; step-sister, Mallory Prickett (Richard) Long; her grandparents, Paschal (Ellen) Prickett, aunts, Tina Drennon Lott, Anita (Edward) Alvarado, Kelley Prickett, and Tina Tatum; uncles, Freddie Tyson, Kenneth (Mira) Jerry, and Rex Stapp. Plus numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Mike Jerry, and grandparents, Charles (Shirley) Drennon, Robert Jerry, and Audrey Simpson, as well as her aunts, Vickey Drennon Stapp and Jane Ellen Prickett Roberts. Whitney’s legacy of love and kindness will serve as a beacon of light for all who knew her.

She had a special place in her heart for the family cat and adopted Jack as her companion. Jack was a source of comfort and joy for her short journey.

Her creative spirit shone brightly in her love for arts and crafts and making others feel beautiful through doing manicures, pedicures, and hair. Her kind-hearted nature made these moments not just about beauty, but about connection and care. Whitney loved hard and will be remembered for her sweet, sweet spirit and kind, loving soul, whose presence uplifted those around her. Her laughter, her gentle touch, and her unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we say goodbye to Whitney Lynn Jerry (Watson), we celebrate the life she lived and the love she gave. Her spirit will continue to inspire us, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who were touched by her life.

Celebration Of Life will be at Fairview Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama, on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. (EST), visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. (EST). Pastor Carl Benedict officiating. At the family’s request please dress casual for the service, it’s what Whitney would want.
