On Wednesday February 12th, just after 4:30 pm EST., Lanett Police issed a follow up press release regarding an incident reported on January 31, 2025 involving the death of a four-month-old infant, Nehemiah Pruitt, who was transported by emergency medical services from the old Jackson Heights projects and later succumbed to his injuries.
Lanett Police Chief Denise McCain reported on Wednesday that an arrest has been made in connection with this incident. Jamesia Brichae Pruitt, a 26-year-old from Valley, was arrested for the alleged murder of the infant. Pruitt has been identified as the child’s mother.
This case remains under investigation, and she encourages anyone with information to contact the Lanett Police Department.
