January 12, 1949 ~ March 25, 2025 (age 76)
Sylvia Ann Yarbrough, known to family as CC, 76 of Valley, passed Tuesday, March 25 at EAMC Opelika.
She was a beloved wife, sister, Aunt, and friend. Sylvia was a strong, dedicated, and Christian woman. She loved listening to gospel music and spreading her love for God by praying with others.
If you knew Sylvia, her favorite saying was, “I’m still here, and I’m holding on!” She worked in textiles for West Point Pepperell and West Point Home at the Fairfax and Fairview mills for many years. She retired, became a wife and homemaker, enjoyed time at the lake, gardened, and watched and fed her birds.
Her family will always cherish her laughter and the adventurous stories she used to tell. She will be missed greatly by us all.
She is preceeded in death by her Father, Edward Pinkard, mother Annis D Pinkard, sister Dorothy J Parrish, and brother James(Jake) Pinkard.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Yarbrough Jr.; stepdaughter Amy (Chris)Holly; granddaughter Jacy O’Neal; brothers William(Debra)Pinkard and Billy(Diane)Pinkard; and many special Nieces and Nephews and their families.
The Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 30, at Johnson-Brown Funeral Home in Valley from 6-8 pm.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 31, at 11 am at the Faith Evangelistic Church at 3020 Ben Brown Rd in Valley.
Graveside will follow at the Fairview Cemetery located on River Rd.
