Mrs. Glenda Michelle Thompson, of Valley, Alabama, was born in Langdale, Alabama on November 12, 1962. Michelle, after a brief illness, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2025.
She is survived by a loving family, including her husband, Jeff Thompson, her children, Brooke Washburn-Hazelip (Christopher), Lori Clifton (Michael), Dixie Van Meter (Lee), and Matt Thompson (Elizabeth).
Mrs. Thompson is also survived by her grandchildren, Micah and Jayden Kerry, Luke Thompson (Maddie), Logan Clifton (Lindsey), Cade Clifton (Amanda), Ben Clifton, Austin Van Meter and Tucker and Tanner Thompson.
Other survivors include her parents, Victor and Diane Smith, and siblings Angelia McLendon, Vicky Herrick, Kevin Taylor (Toni), David Taylor (Lisa), and Marla Harmon (Roger). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her extended family Ralph Thompson (Donna), Steve Thompson, and a life-long friend Missi Sherer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Luther and Mildred Crower and a special brother-in-law, Raymond McLendon.
Michelle attended Valley High School. She enjoyed working with the public and was employed at Sue’s Chic Restaurant for several years. She also served her community through her employment with Home Health Services.
One of her favorite things to do was searching out and collecting unique items for her booth at Timeless Antiques in Valley, Alabama where she made many friends.
The beach was Michelle’s happy place. She loved Saturdays in the fall watching Auburn football, and she enjoyed spending time in her yard watching the birds and growing beautiful flowers.
Visitation for Mrs. Thompson will be on Tuesday, September 2nd at 1:00 PM EST, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM EST at Valley-Point Funeral Home in Lanett.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Valley Point Funeral Home and Cremation in Lanett, Alabama, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
