1943 ~ 2025 (age 82)
Jenny Sharp Williams, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama, at the age of 82. Born on January 10, 1943, in West Point, Georgia, Jenny was a spirited soul who deeply enriched the lives of those around her. Jenny, lovingly known as ‘Jenny’ to her friends and family, was the daughter of the late Walter and Katherine Sharp and the sister of the late Tony Sharp.
The void left by her beloved husband, Michael Williams, and her dear grandson, Dean Williams, was gently filled with the love and laughter of a large, tightly-knit family. Jenny’s legacy lives on through her devoted children: Terry Strength and his wife Missy, Diane Hodges and her husband Jonathan, Gene Williams and his wife Melissa, and Alan Williams and his wife Carla. Her love and lessons will forever be treasured by her adored grandchildren: Christopher Strength and his wife Kayla, Joshua Adamson and his wife Shaina, Mariah Hoppe and her husband Chase, Lane Hodges and his wife Camile, Amanda Fay and her husband Christopher, Taylor Harper and her husband Brandon, Tyler, Brittney Williams and her husband Jon, Olivia Arnold and her husband Merritt, Dustin Williams and his wife Crystal, along with Chasity, Samantha, Collin, and Crystal. The joy of her 13 great-grandchildren, who lit up her world, cannot be overstated.
After proudly graduating from high school, Jenny dedicated her life to creating a home filled with warmth and happiness. Her interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Jenny’s love for pigs was well-known, expressing itself in her delightful collection of pig-themed curios. She found great enjoyment in solving puzzles, stirring not just jigsaw pieces but also bringing together the pieces of a well-lived life.
Known for her exceptional skills in cooking breakfast, Jenny turned simple meals into a feast of memories, blending flavors with the tenderness of her caring heart. Her passion for family outings and rides to the lake were cherished moments that became the fabric of her family’s history. Described by her loved ones as loving, kind, and thoughtful, Jenny’s influence extended well beyond her immediate family. She crafted a world around her that was a direct reflection of her heart’s capacity to love unconditionally. Her kindness was not an act but a way of life, one that she demonstrated consistently through her thoughtful gestures and constant support.
A true matriarch, Jenny’s dedication to her family will be her lasting testament. The principles she instilled in her children, the unconditional love she poured into her grandchildren, and the delight she shared with her great-grandchildren will continue to guide them through their lives. Though she has left the earthly realm, the lessons Jenny taught through her example of how to live a life filled with love and kindness will remain. With every homemade breakfast, each assembled puzzle, and during those tranquil rides to the lake, Jenny will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Her presence – a gentle hand, a comforting word, a loving embrace – will be felt always, an echo of the extraordinary woman she was. The family takes solace in knowing Jenny is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband, her cherished grandson Dean, and other family members who had passed before her. As Jenny’s story continues to be written in the hearts she touched, her memory will remain an indelible part of the community she loved, inspiring generations to come.
