Post: Human Remains Found Near Chattahoochee Bridge: in West Point: GBI Investigating

On September 4, 2025 at or near 1930 hours, Officers with the West Point Police Department responded to the area of the Chattahoochee River Bridge on Interstate 85 in reference to a possible deceased person.

Upon arrival, Officers were able to locate an unidentified deceased person’s remains.

The Harris County Coroner’s Office was contacted along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to assist in processing the scene.

The individual remains have been sent out for DNA testing for identification purposes.
