July 25, 1949 ~ October 26, 2025 (age 76)
Elizabeth Ann Smedley, who was born on July 25, 1949, in Sparrows Point, MD, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Lagrange, GA, surrounded by the love of her family. She brought light and kindness into this world and will be remembered for her loving and caring nature.
Elizabeth, affectionately known as Ann by friends and family, was a pillar of strength and love to everyone she encountered. She dedicated her life to her family, serving as a faithful wife to her husband, David Smedley, and a devoted mother to her sons, the late Bubba Smedley and David Brian Smedley. Ann’s memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her sisters, Patricia (Emery) Justiss and Betty Jean Bulloch; her brother, Ricky Taylor; and her adored grandsons, Gavin and Blake Smedley, along with numerous nieces and nephews who revered her as the core of the extended family.
Ann found joy in the simplest pleasures of life and shared this joy generously with others. She was revered by many for her benevolence and unending support; she was indeed the epitome of a person who always helped others. As a faithful employee for over 20 years, Ann’s commitment and dedication were evident to everyone who worked alongside her.
Her passions were manifold, but nothing surpassed the love and energy she poured into being a grandmother. Ann’s kind spirit and loving nature served as a guiding light for her grandsons, whom she held dear. She embodied the virtues of a lifelong partnership as a wife, nurturing her relationship with David through every season of life, and her influence as a mother was immeasurable.
Ann’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering faith and a boundless capacity for love. The footprints she leaves behind are indelible, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. While she has been preceded in death by her father, Richard Taylor, her mother, Lamerle Ruffin, and her beloved son, Bubba Smedley, the legacy of Elizabeth Ann Smedley’s compassion, warmth, and kindness will endure, continuing to shine bright and inspire future generations.
As we say farewell to Ann, we celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived and a woman immensely loved. The beauty of her spirit will continue to flourish in the memories shared by all whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Ann, until we meet again.
