Post: Connie (Monk) Osborne Obituary

May 2, 1941 ~ March 15, 2025 (age 83)

Connie Lucelia Monk Osborne passed peacefully from this world and into eternity with her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2025, at East Glen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she has resided for the last four years. Born on May 2, 1941, she was raised in Gabbettville, GA along with her three siblings. She graduated from West Point High School in 1959 where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen.

She enjoyed music and loved to dance at the local teen club. A big Elvis fan, she collected music, memorabilia and was quick to share that she was at his Auburn concert back in 1974. After marriage, she resided in Lanett, AL where she raised three children. She was devoted to her family. Activities, outside of work and managing the household, included her sons’ ball games, her daughter’s beauty pageants and band concerts, along with water skiing and camping.

Notable employers were The Valley Times News and West Point Pepperrell. While at West Point Pepperell, she proudly worked for Walter Chapman and was able to give support while he was President of the Lanett Panthers Football Booster Club.

She was preceded in death by her mother – Grace Meriwether Monk and stepfather – Robert Monk; her brother – Lane Monk and sister – Sharron (Monk) Adreon. She is survived by her husband of almost 66 years – Bobby Osborne; her children – Todd and Angie Osborne, Greg and Kathryn Osborne, Dan and Beth (Osborne) Piper; her grandchildren – Seth Osborne (Kristy), Jesse Osborne (Olivia), Tucker Osborne (Katelyn), Griffin Osborne (Allison), Audrey Osborne, Fenn Piper, and Boone Piper; her great grandchildren – Grant Bowen Osborne, Nora Belle Osborne, Ryann Kay Osborne, and Wells Tucker Osborne. She is also survived by her sister – Cindy Monk Munisteri (Robert).

Funeral services will be at Johnson Brown Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama on Wednesday March 19, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. eastern time, followed by graveside at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama.
