On Tuesday morning, BFD B-Shift was dispatched to the 2500 block of Lee Road 177 due to a reported structure fire. The caller indicated that two outbuildings were on fire and the flames were spreading to a nearby residential structure with three children inside. Heavy black smoke was visible from several miles away, prompting an upgrade of the call to a working fire, which activated automatic aid companies to assist at the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that two small outbuildings were fully engulfed in flames, posing a significant threat to the adjacent residence. Fortunately, it was confirmed that all occupants of the home had evacuated safely and were unharmed. Firefighters quickly deployed two 1 3/4″ attack lines to suppress the fire and effectively brought it under control. The nearby residence sustained moderate heat damage; however, the fire crews managed to halt the fire spread before it could penetrate the interior of the home. The cause of the fire was left undetermined, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
The Beulah Fire Department responded with three apparatus and ten personnel, remaining on the scene for one hour before returning to service. Lee County Sheriff’s Office Alabama also responded to the scene to assist.
