Anna Mae Fuller, affectionately known to many as Anna, departed this world at the age of 65 on August 18, 2025, passing away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home in Cusseta, Alabama. Born on January 28, 1960, in Valley, Alabama, Anna’s life was marked by a devotion to her family, her church, and the community that she so deeply cherished.
Throughout her life, Anna embodied the essence of kindness, love, and friendliness. She was an active and faithful member of Faith Evangelistic Church in Valley, Alabama, where her commitment to her faith and her church community was evident. Anna was a beacon of light within her church, often offering a warm smile and a helping hand to anyone in need. Her gentle spirit and avoidance of drama made her a beloved figure among her peers.
Anna’s work history exemplified her friendly and kind nature. She was known for her ability to connect with others and make them feel seen and valued. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was also involved in various associations, further demonstrating her commitment to fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Her interests painted a picture of a woman who embraced the joy of life. Anna enjoyed the excitement of bingo and the thrill of watching dirt track racing. She was an outgoing individual, never hesitating to strike up a conversation with a stranger and turn them into a friend.
Most importantly, Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Cook (Asheley) and Cecilia Scott (Jamie); her cherished grandchildren, Austin and James Scott and Gypsy, Jakob, and Lynnlee Cook; her adored great-grandchildren, Rawlin and Fynn Dees and Ronin Cook; and her sister, Vertice Irvin. Her family was the heart of her world, and she poured her immense love into every moment she shared with them.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Lee and Harold “Tata” Baty; her brother, Joseph Baty; and her sister, Glenda Cook. These losses never dimmed the light of love she held for her family.
Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and service, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Anna’s memory will live on in the stories shared by her family and the countless lives she touched. Her presence will be missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she has left behind. The world was indeed a better place for having had Anna Mae Fuller in it.
Funeral services for Anna will be held on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at Faith Evangelistic Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pastor James Clark will officiate. Anna’s family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
