Mrs. Ann M Davis, age 96 of Valley, Alabama passed away on June 18th, 2025.
Mrs. Davis was born on August 4, 1928, to the late John and Annie Mathison. She was a member of Shawmut Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Red Level High School, the Salutatorian of her class at the age of 16. She went on to the University of Montevallo, obtaining a degree in Consumer Science and received a Master’s Degree in English from Auburn University. She spent several years teaching, however, was a dedicated homemaker, housewife and a devoted mother to four children. Through her entire life, her real passion was her family: her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her primary focus and priority was always her family.
After raising her children, she became the Valley branch manager of H&R Block for over 10 years.
Mrs. Davis was an avid member of the Little Boston Club and the United Methodist Women. Additionally, she was a volunteer at Calloway Gardens and the Valley Public Library. She had a lifelong hobby of gardening, was an expert seamstress and loved to travel Mrs.
Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Edward R. Davis, Jr.
She is survived by their four children: Deborah Ann Davis, Kay D. (Tom) Perryman, Ed R. (Dolly) Davis III, and Mike (Re) Davis; grandchildren, Greg D. Rice, Ginger R. (Erik) Lubinger, Jill R. (Michael) Turner, Ed R. (Emily) Davis IV, Calli (Chris) Gagnon, Jena (Jonathan) Hudmon, Jade (Blake) Hudmon, and Hannah (Stewart) Davis; great grandchildren, Lilli, Ellison, Keller, Reese, Max, John Lawrence, Caty Mae, Jack Roger, Addisyn, Karsen and her brother, James Wesley Mathison.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, at 11:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Valley. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM (EST) at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, Alabama. Pastor Keith Davis will officiate. The Davis family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 AM (EST) until the service hour at the Johnson Brown Funeral Home in Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Mrs. Davis asks that donations be made in her memory to Shawmut Methodist Church or to Valley Haven School.
