From Valley
On October 6, 2025, members of the Valley Police Department responded to the Rehobeth Baptist Church, located at 204 Hughley Road, in reference to a white female attempting to set the wooden cross in the yard of the church on fire.
The subject fled the scene before the fire could cause major damage to the cross. During the course of the investigation a suspect was developed. On October 8, 2025, members of the Valley Police Department made an arrest on Christy Lynn Wesson, also known as Christy Lynn Jones for the following charges: Cross or American Flag Burning and Desecration of a Venerated Object.
Ms. Wesson was transported to the Valley Police Department for processing before being transported to the Chambers County Jail without incident.
