Mr. William Lee “Billy” Lovelady passed away at his residence on October 10, 2025 at the age of 70.
William was born on February 8, 1955 to the late William Quinton Lovelady and Wana Sue Colley Lovelady. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Wayne Lovelady; sister, Nancy Lovelady Kirk.
William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He will always be remembered and honored for his dedication to his work, for how he would never leave a question unanswered, and for his advice that always seemed to be given when everyone needed it most. He always believed in working for what you have, and never allowing anyone or anything to take that away from you.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Joan Lovelady; brother, Tommy Lovelady; sister, Sandra Lovelady Alford (Chris); brother in law, Joe Vick Kirk; beloved children, William David Lovelady (Patti), Amy Renea Lovelady, Christy Lovelady; his darling grandchildren, Brianna Austin Lovelady, Zac Lovelady, Brittnee Lovelady; and well as many cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life to honor William Lovelady will be held at the Bledsoe Family Community Center, 1854 Lashley Road, Alexander City, AL 35010 on October 18, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
Anyone who had ever known Mr. William “Billy” Lovelady, worked with him, respected him, or simply received words of advice from him are welcome to come and celebrate the wonderful life he had.
