AUBURN, Ala. – On Oct. 22, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Delmond Dmonta Cunningham, age 42, from Charlotte, North Carolina, on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with domestic violence third degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to the 1600 block of Professional Parkway in reference to a domestic incident. The victim stated that she was assaulted by Cunningham, and he fled in her vehicle. Auburn Police located the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Academy Drive and Gatewood Drive.
The search led Lee Scott Academy to secure the area around the school out of precaution. Police said the scene was all clear just before 12:30 p.m.
After a thorough search of the area, officers located Cunningham and arrested him without incident. While searching for Cunningham, Auburn Police learned that he was a fugitive from justice wanted on felony warrants related to an incident in North Carolina.
According to Auburn Police, this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
