Local Obituaries brought to you by Frederick-Dean, and Valley Point Funeral Homes. “Serving our communities in its time of need”.

March 7, 1957 ~ October 19, 2025 (age 68)

Melinda Kim Angle Warner, 68, of West Point, Georgia, peacefully left her earthly home on Sunday morning, October 19th, 2025. She was surrounded by her doting husband of 42 years, Charlie, and her children who adored her more than she would ever know. Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Linda Blanche Wright Angle and Clyde Farill Angle, as well as her brother, Linton Farill Angle.

Kim was born on March 7th, 1957, in Rome, Georgia. She graduated from West Rome High School in 1975, and recently attended her 50th high school reunion.

She was a proud Auburn University and Mercer University graduate who devoted many years of her life to her community through her work in education. She poured herself into the Troup County School System from 1986 until her retirement in 2011, serving as a teacher, principal, Director of Middle School Curriculum, and Director of Federal Programs. She touched the lives of so many students and gained many wonderful, steadfast friends during her time as an educator. Always the teacher, we continue to learn from her in her absence.

Kim’s accomplishments are many, as she was determined to do better than well at anything she set her mind to. She shined brightest as the most selfless mother to her two children. She also takes home the gold for being the greatest Nonnie of all time to her four precious grandchildren.

For years, Kim played rhythm guitar for The Treefrogs. She was a Scrabble and Words with Friends extraordinaire. She could proofread anything like nobody’s business. Although she wasn’t much of a cook, she always knew the best spot to meet up for lunch. She was unrivaled in her shopping abilities, and if you ever needed someone to “go piddle around” with, she was your gal. Befriending literally anyone was her superpower. As the faithful 9th member of the traveling Wright Cousinuts, she sends her regrets for being unable to attend this year’s trip, but stated that she will always be there in spirit.

Any challenge was met by Kim head on and with full force. She would never be bested by the likes of cancer – she would simply say that because her journey was in God’s hands, she was bound to win either way.

Anyone who experienced Kim’s love and friendship can attest to what a wonderfully rare, selfless, and delightful woman she was. Quite simply, she was a beautiful human and an angel on earth. She gave something of herself to everyone – even if it was just the beaming light of her smile. And oh, how we will miss that smile of hers.

She is now watching over those she reluctantly left behind – her husband, Charlie; her daughter, Lauren Farish and son-in-law Hunter (Salem, AL); her son, Chad Warner and daughter-in-law Ariel (West Point, GA); and without a doubt, her spirit will forever be a hedge of protection around her treasured grandbabies, Kori Farish (11), and Channing (14), Beckham (10), and Surie Warner (8).

We would be remiss to leave out that she is also survived by her furry companions, Katniss, Sully, Betty White, and Bob White, in no particular order, all of West Point.

“Thank you all for everything. I love you all, and I will see you on the other side!” Kim Warner, 10-6-25

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist of West Point on Thursday, October 23rd at 3:00 pm. Kim’s favorite color is orange, but it is preferred that you wear any color other than black if you are able.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate in her honor to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
