Mrs. Polly Nix Porter, age 57, of Valley, Alabama passed away on October 11th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on July 30th, 1968, in Langdale, Alabama to the late Cerell and Louise Nix.
Polly is survived by her husband, Mark Porter; daughter, Ansley Conway (Zachery); son, Colby Conway (Taylor); grandchildren, Ryland, Annaleigha, Axel, Kolbie, Elizabeth, and Tamsley; siblings, Iva Sanders (Kenneth), Miriam Lewis (Barry), Amy Nessmith (David), and Myron Nix (Elizabeth); a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and her dog, Bear.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Tamara Nix, Susan Crane, and Jane Franks; her dachshund, Daisy Mae.
Polly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and to travel and camp with her family. She had a great work ethic, enjoyed helping others, and loved her Kroger family.
Funeral services for Polly will be held on Thursday, October 16th, 2025, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Pastor Keith Davis will officiate. Polly’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley from 5:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT).
In lieu of flowers, Polly’s family asks that donations be made to Chattahoochee Hospice, 6 Medical Park North, Valley, Alabama 36854, in her memory.
