Post: 2 Arrested In Connection with Opelika Home Invasion, Robbery

OPELIKA- The Opelika Police Department has arrested two individuals related to a home invasion in August. On August 26, 2025, Opelika Police responded to the 2000 Block of Pepperell Parkway regarding a robbery. The victims reported that two masked individuals, armed with firearms, entered their home and demanded money and cellphones before fleeing the scene

An investigation into this incident led to the identification of 21-year-old Darrion Tyshawn Hearns from Opelika, AL, as one of the armed suspects. Hearns was arrested on August 28, 2025,for First-Degree Robbery and First-Degree Burglary. Additional evidence linked 23-year-old Tamira Shamia Simmons from Opelika, AL, as an indirect participant in the robbery, and she was subsequently arrested on September 2, 2025. Simmons is also charged with First-Degree Robbery. The additional gunman has not been identified at this time.
