Post: Lanett PD Responds to North 11th Ave. Shooting

Lanett Police responded to a weekend shooting.

“On 09/20/2025 at approximately 7:27 PM the Chambers County Dispatch Center received multiple calls in reference to gunfire in the 1200 block of North 11th Ave in Lanett, AL. Upon arrival of officers a 61-year-old black male was located in the 1200 block of North 11th Ave with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

The victim was transported from the scene by Lanett EMS before being airlifted to a regional medical center for treatment. A search of the area resulted in the recovery of multiple shell casings; witnesses stated a white car and a red truck were seen in the area exchanging gunfire before fleeing. A residence in the area was also struck by gunfire, with no injuries reported”, said Lanett Police in a press release,
