Billie Faye Perry, known affectionately as Billie Faye to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2025, at the respectful age of 95, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born on May 22nd, 1930, in Roanoke, Alabama, to the late Sanford R. and Etta Smith Knight. Billie’s life was a story of love, faith, and dedication to her family.

Throughout her life, Billie Faye was a source of light and strength, instilling a sense of love and warmth in all who knew her. She fiercely loved her family and is survived by her adoring daughter, Jennifer Perry Wood and husband Cy; her son, William H. “Bubba” Perry, Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren, Brian Perry, Amy Wood Welcher and husband Jerry, Amanda Perry Malone and husband Jon, and Trey Wood and wife Hollis. Her legacy also lives on through her great-grandchildren: Isabelle Perry, Emma Malone, Greyson Perry, Charlie Malone, Cyrus Wood, Anna Wood, and Aubrey Wood, who were the delights of her later years.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, William H. “Harold” Perry, Sr., and her brothers, Sanford L. “Leon” Knight and Roy Milton “Tubby” Knight. Billie Faye’s dedication to her family was mirrored by her commitment to her faith and community. A long-standing and active member of Shawmut Methodist Church, she contributed wholeheartedly to the United Methodist Women’s group and was a vital presence within various other church groups.

Those who knew Billie Faye will fondly remember her exceptional culinary skills, particularly her famous dressing, spaghetti, pound cakes, and tea cakes. She was the embodiment of “get up and go,” and her feisty, yet sweet nature was a source of joy and inspiration. Friends and family will recall with affection the times she doted on her grandchildren, such as the instance she traveled hours to Louisiana, just to deliver a huge homemade cake.

Billie Faye’s life was marked not only by the love she showered on her family and friends but also by her unwavering faith and thoughtfulness. Her caring spirit extended to all living things, including her cherished cat, which she adored immensely.

A woman of Billie Faye’s character leaves behind an indelible mark on the hearts of all she touched. Her loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful nature will be remembered as the essence of who she was. Billie Faye Perry entered into rest leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to be celebrated by all who were privileged to know her.

Funeral services for Billie will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Shawmut Methodist Church in Valley. Interment will follow in Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Keith Davis will officiate. Billie Faye’s family will receive friends Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 AM (EDT) until the service hour.
