We come together today to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, Melisa “Lisa” Daniel, whose warmth and kindness profoundly touched all who knew her. Born in Columbus, Georgia, on October 11, 1963, Lisa set out on a journey of love, family dedication, and community involvement that left an indelible mark on this world.

On August 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, Lisa passed away peacefully at her home in Huguley, Alabama. Those who knew Lisa can attest to her unwavering love and devotion not only to her husband, Perry Daniel, but also to her adoring sons, Ethan Whitehead, David Daniel, and his wife Brittany, and Bryan Daniel. A source of light and guidance in their lives, she was a cherished grandmother to Roxanne Daniel, Landon Daniel, Carson Daniel, and Laylani Page, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and support.

Lisa was a sister, friend, and confidant. Growing up with siblings Teresa Wing and her husband Larry, Carol Miller, Glen Balock and his wife Lisa, and Dale Balock and his wife Gail offered a lifetime of memories and unshakeable bonds that can only be forged in the hearts of a close-knit family. United in loving memory, Lisa also joins her son Josh Whitehead, her father James Balock, and her mother Mary Murphy, who preceded her in death.

Lisa’s heart knew no strangers; she welcomed all with open arms and a radiant smile. Her home, renowned for its pristine condition, was a testament to her diligent care and attention to detail. She cherished her family, doting on her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

As an attendee of Happy Valley Baptist Church, Lisa’s faith was unwavering, and it guided her compassionate actions and her commitment to community. Lisa’s spirit will forever be ignited amongst the Auburn University fans, as her passion for the team was both unmistakable and contagious. She also found joy in the great outdoors, with camping trips providing cherished moments of solace and adventure.

Today, as we bid farewell to Lisa, we remember a life well-lived, a family well-loved, and a woman well-cherished. Though we mourn the loss of such a tremendous presence, we also rejoice in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in all the lives she’s touched.
