Post: Valley Gets Big Opening Win

By Kevin Eckleberry with BeeTV Sports

The Valley Rams opened their season in fine style with a 20-14 home win over Glenwood Friday night.

Valley built a 20-0 lead in the second half and held off a Glenwood rally to secure the victory and avenge a season-opening loss to the Gators.

Glenwood had no answers for the one-two combination of quarterback Caden Foreman and running back Brandez Eason.

Foreman was nearly perfect, completing 16-of-19 passes for 221 yards with a touchdown, and he added 16 rushing yards on four carries.

Eason, meanwhile, punished the Glenwood defense for 161 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown.

Aeden Johnson caught seven passes for 64 yards, Malachi McCullough had three receptions for 91 yards, Tristian Howell caught three passes for 43 yards with a touchdown, and Kason Varner grabbed two receptions for 28 yards.

Mason Yarbrough led the defensive effort with 11 total tackles including seven solo stops, Brandon McCullough had seven solo tackles including one for loss.
