Gregory Carl Evett, 66, of West Point, Georgia, passed away, May 26, 2025, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in Lagrange, Alabama. He was born, August 17, 1958, in Trion, Georgia.

He was a member of Plant City Baptist Church and Lanier Baptist in his later years. He was a student at Valley Haven School and Pathways Center.

Greg competed in the Special Olympics, and he participated in the Boy Scouts of America.

He enjoyed watching westerns and sitcoms. He also enjoyed collecting photos and newspaper clippings of his friends and loved ones.

Greg was a happy and caring man. He was a special blessing on our lives. He will be deeply missed until we meet him again.

He survived by his father, Carl D. Evett of West Point, Georgia, sister, Susan D. Hale of Cusseta, Alabama; nephew, Matthew J. Foster (Amber) of Opelika, Alabama; niece, Alexandria Taylor of Valley, Alabama; great nephew, Shiloh T. Gearhart of Cusseta, Alabama; uncle, Rollette Evett of Trion, Georgia; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Paula June Evett of West Point, Georgia. Paternal grandparents Dewey and Goldie Evett of Summerville, Georgia, maternal grandfather Paul Ayers of Fyffe, Alabama. Grandnephew Alexander J. Turner of Lanett, Alabama.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Arvind Kamath, Leanne Knowles, CRNP, and staff at Valley Primary Care, Dr. Patrick Martin, Valley Pharmacy, for their compassionate care throughout his life. And also, a special thanks to Dr. Manly, Nurse Kellyn and staff at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center for their dedication and care during his final hours.
