OPELIKA, Ala. – The City of Opelika is proud to announce that Fiscal Year 2024 has been the most successful year in the city’s history for construction activity, with a record-breaking total value of $337.5 million. This significant milestone demonstrates Opelika’s continued growth and development as a prime location for both residential and commercial investment.
Leading the way, single-family residential construction surged to $115.1 million and new commercial building topped out at $124.5 million. In addition, with the inclusion of townhome, duplex and apartment units, a total of 1,254 permits were issued during FY 2024, further cementing Opelika’s status as a sought-after destination for new housing.
