AUBURN, Ala. – On Aug. 21, 2025, Auburn Police, with assistance from the North Alabama Search Dog Association, located a deceased person in a heavily wooded area located southeast of Lee Road 20. Officials observed clothing consistent with Wesley Carter Herbert, a person reported missing on Aug. 8, 2025. A death investigation is ongoing, and investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the identity. There is no evidence to suggest criminal activity or a present threat to the community.
