The Valley Rams kicked off their 2024 football season on Friday at the Swamp at Glenwood as the Gators came from behind to defeat the Rams 21-20.
Valley’s Dee Dun returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a Ram touchdown. The Rams would dominate early as Valley jumped out to a 20-0 lead and lead 20-13 at Halftime.
Valley Quarterback Galvin Goss had a huge game going 7-9 for 83 yeards while racking up 201 on the ground.
In the 3rd, the Gators dominated time of possession and would eventually take the lead late in the 4th Quarter 21-20.
Valley had a chance late in the game but was denied by the Gator’s Defense as Glenwood hung on to upset Valley 21-20.
Speaking of Defense, Valley’s Antwan Greenwood had a monster game with 8 solo tackles, and Mason Yarbrough had 6 solo tackles.
“We played well at times but have to be better in special teams that cost us. We got to get back to work this week and get better every week”, said Valley Head Football Coach Adam Hunter.
Valley will host Smiths Station at home on Friday.
