Alice Carter Milner, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at the age of 88 in Lee County, AL. Born on April 8, 1936, in Riverview, AL, Alice’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.
Alice, known affectionately by her friends and family, was a woman whose heart knew no bounds. She dedicated her life to caring for others, a trait that was evident in the warmth and joy she brought to every room. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her sons, Thomas (Beth) Milner and Brent (Cristy) Milner; grandsons, Josh (Elizabeth) Milner, Jake (Sara) Milner, Carter Milner, and Juwain Shorter; granddaughter, Megan Fuller; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Milner, Mary Beth Milner, and Jace Milner. Alice also leaves behind a host of adored nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Danny Milner, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and love.
Alice’s interests were a reflection of her loving nature. She was a devoted attendee of baseball games, a passion she shared with her late husband, Danny. Her stories about her father were legendary within the family, and she passed down a legacy of cherished memories and life lessons. Alice’s involvement in local church activities was a cornerstone of her life, where she served with unwavering commitment and grace.
Those who knew Alice would describe her as loving, kind, and faith filled. She was a woman who lived her beliefs, and her presence was a comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Alice’s ability to see the good in others and her tireless efforts to make the world a better place has left an indelible mark on her community and everyone she touched.
Alice’s life was a journey of love, from the early days in Riverview to her final years in Opelika. Her legacy is one of compassion, family, and an unshakeable faith that guided her through the joys and challenges of life. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend—an irreplaceable soul whose memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services for Alice will be held on Monday, July 8th, 2024, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at First Christain Church of Riverview. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Brother Ron Shephard will officiate. Alice’s family will receive friends Monday, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM (EDT) at First Christain Church of Riverview.
